And if they are selling supplements, that really says a lot. I take product sales advice from supplement sellers much differently because that market is very different and has some particularities that don’t really exist in most other product markets. Let me just lay some of them out for people who do not know so they have context:

If you want to learn how to sell all kinds of existing products (found at retail stores and other local buying outlets) on Amazon using FBA, then Jim Cockrum’s Proven Amazon Course (PAC) fits the bill to a T.
Please Note: All new Selling on Amazon subscriptions include access to sell on Amazon.com, Amazon.ca, and Amazon.com.mx. Fees, available product categories, and selling requirements may vary between the three marketplaces.
However, after thinking about this, I don’t consider this to be a downside at all. I like the fact that there is a high barrier of entry for people to sell on Amazon, as that means there will be less competition and it will be easier for people like me to get in early and take advantage of this growing trend before everyone else.
If you are brand new to the idea of private labeling, this eBook is a great starting point to get the rough idea. Although I am yet to personally launch an Amazon labeled product, I have conducted a fair amount of research before purchasing this eBook. As a result, I already knew most of the content in here. It does not go into DEEP detail on the various steps of launching a product, but does cover enough information to make it an informative read. It is well-written but simply did not suit all my needs. However, any knowledge gained is better than nothing, and for the small price tag I do not regret the purchase.
The concern I have is that as long as you’re selling a product that’s easily replicable, you run the risk of competitors undercutting your price, eroding your high margins. And as long as the model involves you just sourcing the products from a wholesaler and then selling them through Amazon, there’s nothing unique about your product.
I’d love to get some elaboration on the term “generic” used here and elsewhere. Are these branded items? A few examples would be great (no need to use real-world examples in order to project your products).
Use the 999 trick. Take your competitors product. Click Add to Cart. In the quantity box put 999. Amazon will come back and tell you something like “sorry, we only have 630 units available.” DO NOT purchase! Record the time. At the exact time the very next day, go and do it again. If it says only 620 available, then you know they sold 10 units within a 24 hour period. Do this for the next 5-7 days. Record all the numbers and get the average. Compare their BSR to how many products they’re selling each day. That’s a baseline for products in that category. Every category is different.
Consider a few basic concerns just before building a site for the business if you’re simply beginning out with web site marketing. That is your target customer base, and what do you think they’ll get out of your site? Must you keep a sensation of instructions in your mind, you’ll be most likely to make a website that keeps consumers returning.

This business is not difficult, all one has to do is find what is selling well and replicate the core product. Pay attention to when I say CORE product, its your job to differentiate your product. That could be different packaging, box whatever it might be to make it look high quality.

@Lost Leader – I have a very small group of people I am teaching. I have paired a few of them up by request for accountability partners. I’ve also considered starting a private Facebook group for them because a few of them have requested it.
About a week ago I joined a webinarjam about Amazon, the guy tried to charge $500’s for his services to teach his way of making sure his students would be successful on Amazon. I didn’t, had some of the suspicions you’re stating above. I looked around though, a few success stories like & direct people to ASM, so I looked. I’m glad I found your site here.
Whilst I will most like not not be able to afford a 3K ASM course I would be interested in doin some research as has been suggested throughout this thread, but the bank issue kinda stops me, like why spend time researching if at the end of the day I still cannot participate.
I have just finished taking the Oracle DBA course at DBA University and I’ve learned a ton. I found the course to be very well structured and was delivered in a way anyone can learn and develop a skill set that will make a difference. The training materials were user-friendly with a very informative text-book that is easy to read and understand. The labs were well organized with step-by step categories that are color coded for ease reference.
Why wouldn’t they? Easy money is easy money. Having said that, if I were a betting man I’d say he really isn’t pulling those numbers, and it’s basically a made up story to get people to buy from his affiliate link.
I have started researching Amazon FBA/PL about 3 months ago. Initially a friend sent me a youtube video about making money on Amazon and other platforms. That took me to other videos on the subject, found the Jungle Stix case study by Jungle Scout, watched the whole series (one episode had Scott as a guest speaker) and started looking for a PL product to source and sell on Amazon. Found a product, contacted manufactureres in China and got some pricing, but felt unsure and not ready to take the next step. Almost gave up and then another friend that just started selling his first PL mentioned Scott’s podcast. Started liseting and got hooked from the first day. For me it was a perfect combination of great information and motivation to take action, which I did. Now we are in the process of having our first order manufactured and should be getting it to Amazon sometime next month. There is a lot of great info available from other sources, but for me the Amazing Seller Podcast has it all in one place. It also gives me the needed boost of energy and motivation to keep pushing through all the obstacles that come with this journey.I see some reviewers bash Scott for trying to monetize by using affiliate marketing, and I had disagree with them. There is nothing wrong with trying to make some money while providing a great service and helping tons of people. Scott is a great Enetrpreneur and he’s trying to help his audience become good Enterpreneurs as well. He is always open about any affiliations and offers other ways you could achieve the same task without having to rely on a paid affiliate tool. Do people really expect everything for free?! Look at the amount of info you are getting without having to pay a penny. All the effort and time that Scott puts into it on the back end, he should get somethign back in return. Just like all of his podcasts and lessons, use this as another tip on how you can make money if you have a skillset that people can benefit from.
Even when you are running a genuine held website therefore are offering something, it actually is still a fantastic concept to have a blog. A blog permits your prospective customers to go into direct contact with you, to be conscious exactly what you occur to be thinking, as well as to see you as greater than a business. It additionally lets you deal with customer concerns directly and to raise your company around the needs of your potential customers.
I did find it strange that Amazon Selling Machine didn’t have any testimonials and results shown from their “Beta” testers ? (They said it was legal stuff but any product owner can just have the standard disclaimers to take care of that like “These results are not guaranteed and are not typical” and show testimonials of their success stories.) The price is certainly steep but I guess people pay those numbers easily for high level mentoring and masterminds so if the quality of people in it are high then there is value there. I guess the big question if if it really is “exclusive” and won’t reopen again.
2) Once I have a handle on basics, if I feel I need to learn something, head over to Jim Cockrum’s course and start with that. This will cover 80-95% of what I’d learn at ASM for a fraction of the cost allowing me to put the money I’d otherwise spend into inventory, etc.
If you hurry you can save a few hundred dollars and grab Jim’s “Proven Amazon Course,” for only $97 as he has a temporary September-October 2013 Price Break going at Proven Amazon Course – brought to you by Jim Cockrum of MySilentTeam.com – Moderators this is not an affiliate link.
