I have been listening to Scott Voelker’s The Amazing Seller Podcast for about two years, and continue to find it helpful and inspiring. Scott’s enthusiasm is a bonus that can hype you up on top of the fact that he has a real talent for breaking things down into simple (and actionable) bites of information that you can use. When he says that he is rooting for you and encourages you to take ation, I 100% believe that he is genuine, and having met him face-to-face at one of his meetups, I can tell you that he is the same encouraging, enthusiastic, and helpful guy in person as he is on the podcast.
Right now, the doors are open and will remain open until January 31st, at which point they will make their decision. If you are on the fence about joining, I would take this opportunity to get in just in case they do decide to close up until later in the year.
I purchased and refunded. It is about selling ecommerce through amazon. When I purchased he broke the payments up but I wasn’t impressed with what he offered for the price. No problem getting a refund from him.
That being said, if you haven’t expanded internationally, Marketplace Superheroes is definitely where I’d start to learn about this. However, ASM is supposed to be including a new “International” module with the current launch, so it’s probably worth waiting to see how good their content is since you already own it.
Everything you said makes a lot of sense…and funnily enough I actually just subscribed to his free PL course. I might as well do this for the next 10 days and then see how I feel and this can by my test to see if I will stick with it…I really just want to have a good enough reason to leave my current job, but it pays too well and I’m a recent graduate with no real skills sooooo…Anyway thank you!!!

NOW try to get a price anywhere near a sell-able item as you request a small amount to test the market, not so easy if oftentimes impossible. “ACME” spatulas who already sells thousands has already negotiated with their suppliers and has already gotten a price you could not hope to obtain, unless you buy similar massive quantities.
Doesn’t that defeat the purpose of private labeling? Or maybe you’re trying to say that you can get better rankings in Amazon with a private label brand which of course would lead to more sales? Is that the advantage?
The only catch so far is you do need some capital to really be successful at this. Not a fortune but I would say you need at least $1-2K on top of the training cost and I’m sure that leaves a lot of people out. The old saying that it takes money to make money really does apply here.

In September 2013, I started receiving emails from every “guru” and his dog about the Amazing Selling Machine (ASM) by Jason Katzenback and Matt Clark (which is not surprising after I found out that about $2000 out of the $4000 price for ASM is paid out as affiliate commission to people who promote it). The promo videos were certainly well done and I was intrigued by the idea of creating and selling my own private label products on Amazon. I was ready to join in after going through the long series of sales pitch videos, then they dropped the price bombshell.

With regard to training, people can make their own choices about what is a good value for their money. I http://www.erienewsnow.com/story/37326182/news I don’t really understand why you’d pay for training to teach you the holy grail when most people haven’t just used the existing (and free) training that Amazon provides to do some testing of their own.
