YES! The first one skipped over FBA which was vital to really making Amazon work. This one goes into private labeling, which just makes them seem like they intentionally hold back good stuff because how could they have launched that course last year and NOT have gone into detail about FBA or private labeling? It’s not like that just NOW became a competitive advantage.
ALWAYS ask for a sample. It will cost you $30-$50, however it’s worth the investment. Also, you want do some level of inspection. Either you get the load shipped directly to you. And you or someone on your team inspects. Or you can hire a 3rd party to inspect it right at the factory. For $200-$300, the inspector will write a full report including pictures. Get this done BEFORE you release the batch. It’s worth the investment and a great option, especially if you’re international.
Well these guru types do that a lot. They take a stand on a certain issue/strategy, then do a complete 360 when it suits them (product launch, selling an affiliate product, etc.,). It’s almost like they forget what they tell there readers, or think they won’t remember.
The market saturation issue was my primary concern for quite some time as well. But after seeing how many opportunities there are on Amazon, I can’t see how it would ever be an issue. If you are in the top 1000-2000 in a product category, you are doing ok. So with dozens of categories, I don’t see the market saturation issue coming into play.

I’ve been listening to his podcast for a while now and I really LOVE his way of teaching and SHARING his knowledge; most important of all is his being an humble and honest man, giving good advices to beginners and experienced sellers alike, and giving a nice positive vibe with his words and manners. The basic idea of this program is that you find products that are already selling well on Amazon, private label them so you don’t have to compete, and use FBA (Fulfillment By Amazon) to do the rest. No need to take an order, ship it, or even take care of a refund. This sounded so simple that even one of The Three Stooges could probably do it.

About a week ago I joined a webinarjam about Amazon, the guy tried to charge $500’s for his services to teach his way of making sure his students would be successful on Amazon. I didn’t, had some of the suspicions you’re stating above. I looked around though, a few success stories like & direct people to ASM, so I looked. I’m glad I found your site here.
Otherwise, it’s a tough call. As much as it’s worked well for me, I’ve seen a lot of people struggle. So, this is a serious question. I’m asking because I just don’t have the perspective of not having prior experience on Amazon.
Experience is experience. Doesn’t matter if it’s a lot or a little. I’m in a position to provide guidance to someone with my other business experience and the success I’ve had with Amazon so far. I’ve disclosed my experience and success. If someone wants to learn, they know what they are getting from me.
I know I probably sound like a hypocrite since I’d earn a commission on alternative courses as well, but they are significantly less than what I could earn promoting ASM. With the private label market becoming more saturated and the increase in price, I just can’t in good conscious promote it without at least acknowledging that there are decent alternatives now.
ASM member here. ASM is like all other information products marketed via affiliates. I was informed by one of the top 3 affiliates of ASM that over 90% of people who start ASM will eventually fail or just fizzle out within a year or two. He has personally worked with hundreds of ASM and Amazon private label sellers, 9 out of 10 of them are no longer selling on Amazon.
Awesome comment, and I’m glad this is at the top. I’m always surprised how many people fall for such high price tag info products. Sometimes that crazy high price tag validates them and makes you think there’s more to it than there really is. There’s a lot to learn from by watching their marketing lol.

This amazing selling machine is meant for experienced marketers who want to increase their income by expanding their businesses. Since it’s a high ticket program, you need to have the money to buy it and a few more dollars to invest in your first products. If you lack the experience or you are struggling with your finances then the program is not meant for you.
One of the biggest mistakes you can make, Scott says, is to go after trendy products that everyone’s selling. Instead of aiming to make a lot per day on 1 product, (the home run), go after unsexy products that sell 10 units per day (solid base hits). To find these, start by making a Touch List. Take a pen and pad and put it by your nightstand. Once you wake up, take it with you and write down EVERY SINGLE product you touch throughout the day. A lot of ideas will come from this. Even if you don’t sell that actual item, you may get an idea to sell a complimentary item. Instead of the vacuum you might sell the filters.
I have been tracking the daily sales volume of the 3 products I will be selling on Amazon. Based on the volume they are selling, and I’m not using top ranked products, just average ones, if I just get them ranked equally as the final 30 days promises to show us, my projections have me profiting around $9000 per month. If I achieve a top ranking for each, this number would be significantly higher.

Minnie – thanks for writing. No doubt the days of just sending anything into Amazon and immediately reaping big windfalls of cash over. Now we all have to treat selling on Amazon as a ‘real business’ with the same inherent risks as any online business, BUT (unlike most other online businesses) the rewards can be high. Selling on Amazon still has far more positives than negatives, regardless of the type of sourcing done (Retail arbitrage, online arbitrage, wholesale, private label, liquidation, etc.)

Promote: Use Amazon’s PPC platform. Use the tools that’s already there for you. With your initial run, don’t focus on making money. Focus on getting sales so you can rank. When you rank you can make more sales consistently. You will get sales organically from PPC and the ranking. You can also drive sales through your own list.
