I purchased ASM3 and than wanted (and got) a refund. It’s not all that’s its cracked up to be. I was able to get a copy of the full program and it does have merit – but not for the price. I bought the Proven Amazon system and think it’s just as good for 1/10th of the price. Both communities are very good – so you’ll get the same result.
Click this link if you’d like to read more about their training program. Keep your head up Ryan, I too lost close to $5K on my first importing adventure, I was lucky to make it up and 10 fold, but I didn’t quit. I made importing work, but didn’t like the risk or the high level of involvement.
Like flyingdutch, I am not in a position to comment on the ASM course, but I am qualified to comment on the part I have highlighted. Sourcing is a vitally important part of the process, and many people are led astray by posts on this forum.

Great Book Scott. This book got me into selling my products on Amazon. This book sent me down the rabbit hole. Let’s hope I can apply what I learned here sufficiently. This is just the beginning though and the book deals very briefly on the whole process one needs to go through to get a product onto Amazon. It’s only about 100 pages but it’s powerful and gripping, well worth the read.

You don’t try to compete with a large brand, you try to compete with a smaller/medium size brand that has no marketing skills. There are not many manufacturers selling on Amazon, therefore there aren’t many people that have a vested interest in getting as many product reviews as possible. Just by doing that one thing, you’ll give the allusion (over time) that your brand is as powerful as their brand.
Newbies can get badly burnt. In September 2014, I met a lady who was in the last ASM course. She shared how she is in the middle of a huge mess after her ASM mentors got a bunch of them into private labeling health supplements. She has paid for the Amazing high fees, is out of pocket from ordering from one of the recommended manufacturers who messed up her product, has not been able to sell a single unit of the products and is battling to get a refund. She’s lost thousands of dollars and might eventually have to file a lawsuit to recover something. What a mess. To be fair, I also know one person who took the course and has had success with his private label products. But he is also a member of Jim Cockrum’s My Silent Team/Proven Amazon Course community and other well-grounded, zero-hype groups.
Panorama – I received a decent amount of emails from my video I created. Some of them were about bonuses because I mentioned Jason Fladlien would be one to look at if they were interested in ASM after watching my honest review. I ended up taking a look at some of the bonuses from some of the other top affiliates and buyers received some of the best because it became such a competition between affiliates.
It is certainly possible to buy $200 worth of product direct from manufacturers in China, but you need to know how to get them to agree to that. Most newbies blow it on their first contact and wonder why they don’t get replies from suppliers. As a matter of interest, Chinese manufacturers are much more likely to allow small orders than Chinese wholesalers are.
The coolest thing is, this course is NOT for procrastonators. By the end of week 1, you’ll have a list of product opportunities. By the end of week 2, you’ll have orderered product samples to physically examine. Don’t worry, you’ll not be alone doing this, you’ll have the full support of the team of mentors, AND the other students doing this along with you!
The problem is that they can’t. In a store like that, sure, you can make very minor adjustments in each department, but you can’t go putting the extra helmets for sale right next to the air conditioners.

My guess is that the opportunity is much smaller than they are making it out to be – and that’s without all these new members. That’s why it makes sense for them to sell this course rather than keep the business model to themselves.
